Fresh Is Best
Preparation Is Fast and Delicious
When you are in a time crunch, or if you really want to impress someone, make Softshell Crabs. My recipe will take you no more than 10 minutes, including preparation time.
Ingredients:
- 2 Softshell Crabs (cleaned)
- 3 Tablespoons Flour
- 2 Tablespoons Old Bay Seasoning
- 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
Procedure:
- Combine the Old Bay and Flour. Mix thoroughly
- Heat a frying pan to medium-high heat, add the olive oil
- Dredge the Softshell Crabs through the flour mixture. Shake off excess
- Fry the Crabs approximately 2 minutes per side or until golden brown.
Serve with a small salad, corn on the cob, or just make a sandwich out of the crabs.
The absolute key thing to remember: Use FRESH Softshell Crabs. Whenever I make these, the softshell crabs are alive when I buy them. They are killed and cleaned at the fish market. Please do the same. You will taste the freshness. That is the ultimate key to great seafood. Tell me what you think.
If you do not like to handle or even cook your seafood, you are in luck. Below are some locations where you can purchase already prepared seafood. All you need to do is pop your order into the oven for a very short time. You will be smiling.
