When Australia is mentioned everyone thinks of the cool scenes in the country. The many hiking locations and places one should visit while in the country. Fishing in Australia has been known to attract both locals and international anglers from all over the world. The oceans and bays, the many estuaries and coastal lakes found in the country attract more than five million enthusiastic anglers. Some of the best fishing locations found in Australia includes the following:-

South West Rocks, NSW
South West rocks which is located in the New South Wales about 450km to the north of Sydney offers a perfect place for anglers to go fishing. Its calm waters and low population of fishers gives anglers a peaceful time to fish when other areas are crowded during holidays.

Gippsland, Vic

Fishers who dominate the waters of Gippsland have a variety of fishing options to choose from .From coastal lakes, rivers, estuaries and a 90 mile beach the area is prominent for it all year round catch that anglers enjoy. Waters of Gippsland are filled with many species of fish which include:- • Australian salmon, • The bream • The garfish• The snapper and • The trevally.

Kimberley, WA
The rugged nature of the western Australian coastal line where Kimberley is located proves to be a good breading area for fish. The vast population of coral reefs helps fish to breed and multiply in numbers. This attracts a large number of anglers who enjoy the population of fish like: – • The Barramund • the red emperor • Sailfish • Queen Fish and • the trevally.

Gove Peninsula, NT
Fishing in Gove Peninsula gives fishers an unforgettable experience in the vast reefs or deep sea fishing. The remote area with still pure waters gives one an experience that is worth telling. The waters in this area give rise to big and quality fish that include:- • Barramundi cod • Mackerel • Coral trout • Golden snapper • Jew fish and • Queen fish.

The Gulf, QLD

Fishing at the gulf gives one an experience like no other. With the Staaten river fishing and the Dinah Island the experience angling in these waters gives is amazing. Barramundi is the species of fish caught in this area in large quantities.

Fraser Island, QLD

Waters in Fraser Island attract both professional and recreational anglers from all over the world. The fish found in the waters of Fraser Island include: –

  • Whiting
  • Dart
  • Bream
  • Mackerel
  • Tailor
  • Tuna
  • Sharks

These waters produce the tailor fish in large numbers between July and October. Other species of fish are however available all year round. The Island contains many fishing spots with the following attracting most people.

  • Middle Rocks- which is found north of the Indian head.
  • Indian Head- found to the east of the Fraser Island.
  • Sandy Cape- it is the furthest point to the north of Fraser Island.
  • Waddy Point- found in the north east side of Fraser Island.

Eyre Peninsula, SA

The Eyre Peninsula is known as one of the most famous fishing grounds in Australia. The cool clear waters in the area offer a thrill for anglers out on a fishing expedition. People out to fish have a large expectation from the large numbers of fish available in the area which include: –

  • Salmon
  • Tuna
  • Monster mulloway
  • Whiting

Australian waters are some of the most potent fishing grounds. Armed with an Australian Visa, many fishing enthusiasts who visit this land of plenty don’t get disappointed.
