Just an hour’s flight from Miami, the magical islands of the Bahamas await with you with the perfect vacation and family fun.
One of the most popular (and easily accessible) locations in the Bahamas is Nassau. Nassau is especially known for its mega-resorts, such as Baha Mar and Atlantis. But what most people don’t know is that Nassau is only a tiny portion of the Bahamas massive offerings that range from big-game fishing to swimming with pigs!
There are, for instance, several amazing beaches for swimming, walking, or tanning such as Cabbage Beach, Rose Island Beach, Gold Rock Beach. The Pink Sands Beach extends for three miles and with cool and calm waters. In the Exuma, you find the Pig Beach where you will find friendly feral pigs. Activities include sailing and snorkeling. At the Stuart Cove, you can even go diving with wild sharks!
If you are staying at the Atlantis or Comfort Suites Paradise Island, you can visit the waterpark/aquarium ‘Aquaventure’. For a touch of history, you can visit both the Pirates of Nassau museum. Thereafter you can enjoy exquisite rums at the John Watling’s Distillery.
To explore the natural wonders of the Bahamas, you can head to the Grand Bahama Island where you have the massive Lucayan National Park. Here you can walk in limestone caves or go horseback riding along the beach. If you are feeling really adventurous, you can go kayaking in the mangroves.
Finally, if you are a fishing enthusiast, you have the whole of Out Islands (excluding the protected waters of Exuma Cays) at your disposal. The waters are exceptionally clear, and not to mention, marine life is abundant and of a great variety. You can also go scuba diving at the Out Islands. All in all, The Bahamas doesn’t disappoint!
