Best Eastern Seafood Shacks

No Frills-Just Delicious

Part 1 of 3

In the quest for finding the best and freshest seafood out there, we went on a hunt to find the best seafood places on the East Coast, broken down into three sections, and three regions. Working our way from north to south, you could easily make this a fantastic ten to fourteen day road trip, eating your way through the best seafood places along the coast. Didn’t pack your finest duds? No problem, because these places are the no frills, in the rough type places where you can roll up in the jeans you wore yesterday and your favorite hoodie.

Arnold’s Lobster and Clam Bar, Eastham, MA

Inspired by the TV show “Happy Days” and the Arnold’s malt shop that Fonzie and crew used to frequent, this Arnold’s had modest beginnings as just a fun place, 50’s themed with awesome seafood at affordable prices. This business model still remains intact today, growing into an award winning seafood spot, complete with ice cream stand and even mini golf. Going to Arnold’s is truly an adventure for the whole family.

The menu has since expanded and includes some fantastic fried clams. Bring your own beer or wine and pull up a picnic table at this hot spot.

Chauncey Creek Lobster Pier, Kittery Point, ME

Beginning as a lobsterman’s pier to buy gas and bait, the restaurant has been owned by Ron Spinney’s family from the start. George Spinney, Ron’s father, turned the pier into a local lobster in the rough spot for the towns folk. Since then it has grown into a well known destination for Maine’s best seafood, colorful picnic tables and enjoying the view of the Chauncey Creek.
