Bluefish are amazing food consumption machines. Get a bunch of them together and watch the feeding frenzy. Something to see. Now, for something completely different, but shocking just the same.
Shiny Things
Bluefish are attracted to food as well as shiny things which resembles food without the smell. Well, one sunny afternoon when I was 12 years old I was fishing for snapper blues from my 8 foot rowboat. It was calm and quite pleasant. A perfect summer day.
I was catching Snappers like crazy. Not very difficult. I noticed a small white butterfly flying around and thought nothing of it. Suddenly, a bluefish came flying out of the water, grabbed the butterfly and disappeared back into the dark water.
I was the only one to see this. No one believed me then or now. This memory has stayed with me for 41 years. I just need to let everyone know. Why, I really don’t know. Please comment.
