Boiled or Steamed Lobster

Learn to Prepare Your Own Seafood

Lobsters are a Cinch to Prepare

Everyone likes to eat lobster. It is considered a delicacy, but no one knows how easy it is to cook it! Most people also don’t realize that that lobster sold on the market has a black or bluish-brown color. That famous red color which is a sight to behold comes after you cook the lobster. If you want to try making your own lobster, here is a recipe you can try.

Here are the ingredients:

  1. 1½ pound lobsters (4)
  2. Sea salt

Recipe for Steamed Lobster:

  1. Start by fitting a large stockpot with a steaming basket. A helpful tip is to use an inverted metal colander. Alternately, you can use a round wire rack.
  2. Next, fill the pot with cold water just enough to cover the bottom of the steam basket.
  3. Cover the pot and bring the water to a boil.
  4. You can cook the lobsters in batches, or place them together in the pot in a single layer
  5. Cook the lobster for around 15 minutes. Enjoy!

Recipe For Boiled Lobster:

  1. Take a large stockpot that can hold around 4 gallons. Fill it three-quarters with cold water
  2. Bring the water to boil and add sea salt, two tablespoons. You can also coarse salt if you like.
  3. Place lobsters, headfirst, into the water one after another
  4. Leave pot uncovered, and cook for 15 minutes max. Enjoy!

See how easy that was! The recipe may be simple, but it takes a while to prepare your seafood in the right manner. Also remember that if your lobsters happen to be larger than 1½ pounds, it increases the cooking time. A good calculation is increasing cooking time by 1-2 minutes per quarter pound.
