Amazing Views, Eclectic Wine Offerings
Plus Delicious Seafood
New Yok City has no shortage of outdoor spaces and drinking spots. But rarely does this combination work as beautifully as it does at City Winery, a two-floor eatery and wine bar located on the Hudson River in Tribeca.
For the most While indoor dining is available, you should have a go at the large roof deck (perfect for pandemic dining). The venue is large enough to bring your entourage after work or before your wedding party. And even if you’re not in a festive mood, the roof deck is one of the best places in the city to rake in the view of downtown Manhattan and the river.
The wine selection at the City Winery encompasses a 30-page menu, which means you will have something new to drink every visit! But unlike many upscale bars in NYC, City Winery prices are in the mid-range, considering that the in-house taps save bottling and labeling costs while ensuring a non-stop supply of wine.
What about the menu? Seafood lovers will particularly love the share plates like calamari, oysters, and baked clams. Oysters ($3 each) pair well with Muscadet or Chablis. But if you are looking for something crunchy, calamari and baked clams are your safest bet.
If you crave something heavier, order the burger with gruyere, tomato aioli, and onions. A word of advice: If you ask for rare, the restaurant takes it seriously.
You can also try freshly-baked shrimp rolls with fries. But the highlights of the menu are Wild Salmon Sashimi and Pacific Halibut a la rouge. But ultimately, it’s all about the drinks and the views.
