Creole Shrimp fritters have a crunchy outside and a fluffy interior. These mouth watering savory morsels are made even more delectable by the addition of a fiery honey drizzle. Its one of the tastiest seafood dishes available and easy to prepare.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup onions
- l lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined), cut into 1/2-inch pieces
- 1 tbsp chopped garlic
- 3 eggs (beaten)
- 1½ cups milk
- 2 tsp baking powder
- Emeril”s Essense seasoning
- Cayenne
- 3¼ cups flour
- 1 tbsp parsley (chopped)
- Solid vegetable shortening
Directions
- In a skillet set over medium-high heat, warm the oil. Include the onions. Cook for 3 minutes or until just starting to wilt is about right for sautéing. Use Essence to season the shrimp.
- Add the shrimp and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, or until they turn pink. Add the garlic and mix. Remove and leave to cool.
- Combine the eggs, milk, baking powder, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon cayenne to make a batter. Space-time
- As you add the flour, beat and incorporate it in by adding 1/4 cup at a time, until all is added and the batter is smooth
- Add the parsley and stir. Fold in the shrimp mixture after adding it to the batter. Heat the shortening to 360 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Drop the batter into the pan, one heaping tablespoon at a time, into the hot oil. When the fritters rise to the surface, gently move them around in the oil using a slotted spoon to ensure even browning.
- Remove, then dry off with paper towels. Essence is sprinkled over the fritters. Put the mayonnaise in the middle of each plate before serving. Put the fritters in a circle around the sauce. Place the herb salad in the sauce’s middle. Serve hot.
