You can start your day trip by getting breakfast in Newport town center. It’s a great place for wandering around as well. This place has some amazing colonial buildings and will be perfect for photos.

You can walk around Thames Street or Bowen’s Wharf for a place to eat. There are even boutique stores if you wish to buy souvenirs.

Fort Adam

Fort Adams will take you back in time. It’s built during the Civil War to help defend the US shorelines from Atlantic threats. It was still active until WWII.

Now the Fort is a museum and a historic site. The kids will surely love wandering inside the halls of the Fort. The tour takes around an hour led by knowledgeable guides.

The Inn at Castle  Hill

 can eat lunch here and choose from different seafood specials. They have clams, oysters, lobsters, and fish. It’s also perched atop a hill, so the view is definitely worth it.

The Cliff Walk

This place is perfect for watching the sunset or sunrise. It’s a 3.5-mile walk. But you don’t necessarily have to walk the entire path.
