Stone Crabs, Florida Lobster and a Variety of Fish

Eating is a part of life. It is something that we all have to do to survive. And I figure that if it’s better to eat something that not only is good for you, but also as well. We don’t always need to fry something in oil for it to taste good – grilling and baking are two options that are healthier, but don’t detract from the taste of the food.

Stone Crab Legs

One type of food that I particularly love and is a popular favorite in Florida is the stone crab. According to Wikipedia, the Florida stone crab is a crab found in the western North Atlantic, Connecticut, Belize, Texas and the Bahamas that is widely caught for food. Harvesting is accomplished by removing one or both claws from the animal. There is not a lot of meat in the crab itself once cooked, but the claws are considered delicacies as they are strong enough to break an oyster’s shell.

There are many different types of fish that we enjoy in Florida as well.

Yellowtail

Yellowtail snapper, grouper and mahi-mahi are just a few of the different varieties of fish that are specialties in the Florida with cocktail sauce or butter, and it tends to just melt in my mouth. In July when Florida has their lobster season, this is when they get the best lobster that we see in the fish markets that we select when we go to the restaurants and devour when it gets to our plates.

Florida Lobster

Lobster tends to be a very juicy, very succulent meat when we bite into it. It’swith cocktail sauce or butter, and it tends to just melt in my mouth. In July when Florida has their lobster season, this is when they get the best lobster that we see in the fish markets that we select when we go to cancel that Pie
