Whether you are a fisherman looking for the perfect spot for a trip, or taking the family on a fun vacation that includes some fishing, Montauk is a dream come true. Located on the south side of the east end of Long Island, New York, it is just a short few hours to New York City. It’s also 100 miles out into the Atlantic Ocean, close to some of the deepest ocean canyons, and next to the “current highway” that migrating fish take heading north or south depending on the season.

Montauk has something for everyone; sailing, shopping, charters, and a wide variety of restaurants to check out. The accommodations are plentiful and reasonably priced, and close to the harbor. But the real reason it is a fisherman’s dream? You can go ten minutes out from the dock and hit a fishing spot in which you can find everything you heart desires! Everything from striped bass and bluefish to mako sharks and marlins can be found in Montauk.

A true fisherman’s paradise, there are charters and even sloops to rent for your own boat to dock. So whether you own a boat or not, own fishing gear or not, Montauk has you covered. Fluke, blackfish, albie, tuna, porgies and mahi-mahi are in abundance in this fishing haven. There are tournaments that run from June through October, for everyone from rookies to well seasoned fisherman.
