For year ‘round residents, the island has two gas stations, a volunteer fire department, liquor store, movie theater, bowling alley, grade school, two gas stations, and a post office. In addition, a small airstrip is located on the west end of the island offering residents and visitors the convenience of flying instead of using the ferry.
