The eatery has a legendary status among the locals, and you will do your tastebuds a favor by dining here on your next trip to the New Port. There’s much that is great about Flo’s Clam Shack, but essentially, the restaurant has managed to be a raving success by staying true to its roots.
The shack is located on 4 Wave Avenue Middletown. Since it’s such a big success, expect the place to be packed. Alternately, you can get takeout and then have a bite at the beach. Likewise, parking can be a challenge, but the experience is nevertheless worthwhile. To enhance the experience, you should get seated outdoors. Outdoor seating is available upstairs ads well.
What to eat? Well, the clam chowder is a must. Other solid options include calamari, claims, shrimp, and fried fish. Thursday night is all you can eat crab legs night for $12.95. If you want to try something different, Friday night special is thick cut prime rib steak, eat by the pound for $9.95. Drink options are numerous, and you can go for a beer, mojito, or even rum punch.
End your perfect dining trip by heading out to the Second Beach, where you can just kick back and relax, or take a walk (in case you ate too much, which is definitely a possibility). Just remember that credit cards are not accepted at Flo’s. But even if you forgot to bring cash, there is an ATM available.
All in all, Flo’s Clam Shack will provide you one of the best seafood dining experiences you’ve ever had.
