Great Bourbon Street Seafood

Redfish Grill Rocks!

Red Fish Grill is a delightful seafood restaurant located on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter of New Orleans. This area of the French Quarter has a long history dating back to the 19th century of being a undesirable section of Bourbon Street for dining out in the evenings due to the fact that it was the location of two very large department stores: Woolworths and D.H Holmes Company which were closed at nighttime. These stores are now long gone but the stigma still remained without new businesses to liven things up with regards to dining.

However, owner Ralph Brennan became a pioneer of changing this once desolate area into an evening hot spot when he opened up the Red Fish Grill. Now the place is the go-to spot for Louisiana favorites such as Creole Marinated Gulf Shrimp, BBQ Blue Crab Claws, and Crispy Mississippi Catfish.

Red Fish Grill has earned itself a top spot on Zagat restaurant ratings, was named a Best Seafood Restaurant in the United States in 2012 by Travel + Leisure Magazine, along with numerous other awards from local publications and organizations for being a top restaurant in New Orleans.

Believe me, it can be hard to find a restaurant that not only serves the freshest catch of the day but also serves it up with bold flavors. But the Red Fish Grill does both while also providing a comfortable and attentive dining experience. This place is always packed but isn’t suffocating by any means. It can get a bit noisy at times with a few tourists and other folks that like to stop in for a down home dinner but that is to be expected when hanging out in the French Quarter.

If you are ever in New Orleans, this place is one you must visit.
