A Great Era Gone By
Progress Isn’t Always a Good Thing
Savin Rock is a section of West Haven, Connecticut
It was the site of the Savin Rock Amusement Park, which began in the late 19th century as a regionally renowned seaside resort. It evolved into a general amusement park in the 20th century and eventually closed in 1966.
Savin Rock is the place where my parents visited in the summer time. It was accessible to them. What could have been better than that. Nobody of my parents age or older from this area does not remember Savin Rock. I went once when I was a little kid. There was almost nothing left, just a few food stands. I could see a little bit of what was. Savin Rock is where I had my first Lobster Roll. In all honesty, that flavor has never ever been duplicated. Below is a very short video about Savin Rock which you might find interesting. Today,Savin Rock is no more and is nothing but condominiums and apartments. The beats still exists, of course.References[edit]
