Seafood Puttanesca Recipe

A  quick, easy, and unforgettable dish-

Have you ever tried Puttanesca, the classic Italian pasta sauce? It is a simple sauce with a powerful flavor. It is traditionally made with ingredients you find in the pantry: tomatoes, garlic, anchovies, capers, olives, and red pepper flakes. What most people don’t know is that it pairs well with fish. The briny and pungent sauce is a natural partner for seafood. Here’s a simple fish puttanesca recipe you can try today!
Seafood Puttanesca Recipe (Serves 4)
What you will need
● 1 lb. white fish fillets (check out recommendations at the end)
● 1/2 cup olive oil
● 4 minced cloves of garlic
● 2 chopped anchovy fillets
● 1 can crushed tomatoes (28 oz)
● 1/2 cup pitted black olives, sliced
● 3 tbsp capers, drained
● 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
How to prepare
1. To begin, preheat your oven to 375°F.
2. Next, season fish fillets with salt and pepper.
3. Place a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat and put olive oil in the skillet. Once heated, add garlic and anchovies.
4. Cook for 30 seconds or until fragrant
5. Stir in crushed tomatoes, olives, and capers.
6. Bring to a simmer, lower the heat, and continue cooking for 10 minutes. If you want a richer flavor, add a splash of white wine to the sauce while it simmers.
7. Now add fish fillets on top of the sauce.
8. Finally, place the skillet in the oven and bake the fish until it is cooked through. It will take around 10-12 minutes.
Leftover Seafood Puttanesca can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. You can reheat in the microwave but it is better to do it gently on the stovetop.
While this recipe works with any kind of fish, we recommend firm, white fish with a mild flavor like cod, halibut, and tilapia. For a richer flavor, consider sea bass or grouper. Happy cooking!
