Maryland Beach Places to Visit.

If you’re planning on visiting the eastern shores of Maryland, whether just passing through or planning a destination visit, there will be no shortage of fun things to see and do.

EasternShore

The Maryland Eastern Shore is basically a peninsula that goes on for hundreds of miles, extending between the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Multiple cities up and down the shore-line offer tons of activities, including recreational activities such as swimming, boating, biking, kayaking and golf, as well as plenty of thrilling family fun-filled annual events such as seafood festivals, waterfront festivals, July 4th celebrations, boating regattas and races, museum events and fishing tournaments.
Rock Hall, Maryland is a favorite for avid boaters and fishers, as this quaint, quiet town has 15 marinas and a plethora of shops and restaurants.

The Waterman’s Museum offers demonstrations on crabbing, oystering and fishing; and the Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge is a wonderful place to spend a day or two, being home to over 230 types of birds, plus plenty of flora. There are hiking trails, an observation websitetower for the best of views, a boat launch, unrestricted fishing areas and picnic tables, so don’t forget your lunch!

Salisbury

Salisbury, Maryland is the largest city on the Maryland Eastern Shore boasting approximately 24,000 residents. The Arthur W. Perdue Stadium is here, which is home to the minor-league Delmarva Shorebirds, and if you are looking for some natural attractions, be sure to find the Salisbury Zoo and Park and the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art.

StMichaels

St. Michaels, Maryland is home to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, which is an impressive 18-acre waterside museum that holds plenty of historic Chesapeake Bay artifacts and history. The museum has nine buildings and includes a great display of sail, power, and row boats.

In addition to the museum, this lovely little town has a quaint downtown destination full of gift shops, boutiques, B&B’s and inns, and some of the best seafood you can find.
