Beautiful Prince Edward Island
The Canadian Provence of Prince Edward Island is actually made up of multiple Islands. Commonly referred to as PEI – it is a tourist mecca of sorts.
A delight for foodies – it has foods unique to islands as well as fantastic sea food. There are festivals throughout the year, but the Fall Flavours Festival is the biggest – it is a month-long celebration and has loads of big events throughout. PEI has farmland and loads of coastline so you get the best of both of these. The land is rich and fertile and produces incredible delights. If you are a foodie – visit in September to eat amazing food and maybe meet one of the many celebrity chefs who participate.
Not a foodie? Maybe you’d like something more adventurous? Kayaking on the open water is incredible – the sites and sounds will amaze you! You can go on a guided Kayak tour and even a clam-digging experience where you will forage for your own clams and can cook them over an open fire when you get back. How fun is that?
PEI is also a great place to see and experience art. You will find all variety of art from sand sculptures to exotic paintings. There are too many craft stores/studios to name – you are sure to find unique gifts and treasures. Some of the studios have opportunities for you to take classes and create your own keepsake. Others, will customize things for you right there on the spot. There are several craft tours to choose from – self-guided or not…worth the dip into life at a different pace.
GOLF! PEI is a small Island community with over 30 golf courses! Standing at the tee looking out over the water is breathtaking. The courses are gorgeous and the rates are reasonable. That’s what I call a win-win.
Whatever your reason for wanting to vacation in Prince Edward Island – finding something new and different once you are there – is guaranteed.
