  • Molasses Reef is one of the most popular dive spots in all of Florida. It great for inexperienced divers as it is a shallow dive and is right off John Pennekamp Park. The dive is about 25-45 ft in order to get a great view of the lobsters, moray eels, and nurse sharks. There are several dive companies with great instructors that will help you navigate these popular diving spots.
  • USS Spiegel Grove is a popular dive spot in Key Largo. When it sank in 2002, the USS Spiegal grove landed on its side instead of upright. Hurricane Dennis then placed it back on its keel a few years later. The highest point is about 60 feet (18 m), with the lowest depth of about 134 feet (41 m)
  • Another notable spot is Pickles Reef. Located southeast of Key Largo, the name stems from sunken pickle barrels during the civil war. This small coral reef is not located within a sanctuary preservation area.

Although most people are drawn in by white sandy beaches and palm groves, Key Largo offers more beneath the surface.
