Virginia Beach Places to Visit
Virginia Beach has always been known for its bustling boardwalk lined with hotels, monuments and plaques, even including a giant statue of Neptune! However, the ocean front shore certainly isn’t the only thing you can expect to find in Virginia Beach if you are planning a visit… there is plenty else to do to satisfy any desire for family fun or nightlife nights on the town.
Is right on 15th street on the boardwalk and can’t be missed. It’s just the right size to pop in for some easy family fun.
Is also nearby, offering four exhilarating slides and plenty of other fun water attractions. And if you are willing to drive about an hour, one of the nation’s best full-sized amusement parks, Busch Gardens, is just up the road in the beautiful and historic Williamsburg, VA.
Contemporary Art Center of Virginia
Museum of Contemporary ArtIt is centrally located, directly across from the Virginia Beach Visitors Center and Pavilion and hosts a multitude of art, including painting, sculptures, photography, video, glass exhibits and more, ranging from regional to international artists. Classes are offered for students of all ages and an auditorium that seats 268 people .
If nature is what you seek then First Landing State Park or Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge are your places to go.
First Landing State Park has over 2,700 acres of hiking trails, cypress swaps, and is a natural nesting ground to hundreds of varieties of birds. Back Bay Refuge offers visitors fishing, hiking and biking, all through completely natural environments. For plenty of other shopping, dining, nightlife and live entertainment, make sure to check out Virginia Beaches newly created Town Center, which boasts a wide array of shops to satisfy anyone’s shopping forays or dining desires.
