Raw Bar And Daily Catch Specials

Old School Ambience

If you’re visiting San Francisco and love seafood, there’s no reason not to visit Sotto Mare. Featuring both a raw bar and fresh catch specials, the restaurant has something for everyone.

The daily specials feature everything from pan fried Branzino with butter and capers to linguine with clams and sweet sand crabs fried in butter and olive oil. If you’re having the linguine, be sure to order it with cream sauce which includes mussels, squid, shrimp, clams, and scallops!

The Cioppino also deserves a mention to look for on the menu. For clam chowder lovers, Sotto Mare’s is  considered the best in the North Beach area.

Speaking of the ambiance, Sotto Mare has fun aesthetics as well, with an exterior featuring nautical themes that include wooden steering wheels and toy boats.

The seafood joint has an elegant granite counter with room for up to 40 people at a time who want to dine on crabs, oysters, and clams. Also, there’s also an extensive Italian liquor menu to wash down your favorite seafood.

What keeps Sotto Mare “rooted” among locals is its homely feel. Owners Giovanni Toracca and Gigi Fiorucci are known across North Beach by name. Not to mention, all the staff comprises friends and family.

So if you’ve got a hankering for Italian seafood and beer with the best service in town, Sotto Mare is the place to be! The restaurant is located at 552 Green St. (Columbus Ave.), San Francisco, CA 94133.
