Great Seafood from The South

Never Fear the Grits

Whether you enjoy cooking it, catching it or eating it, seafood is the type of food that everyone can enjoy because there’s something for everyone. Be it shrimp and grits, crab or almost any type of fish, these are the dishes that make a person want to lick their lips and dig in. When I am visiting the Georgia area, there are a couple of seafood dishes I just have to get my fill of before I leave.

Shrimp and grits is an old-time Southern favorite that is easy to make. Just thinking of this delectable dish makes my mouth water. There’s nothing better than when I’m feeling a need for some good old southern comfort seafood than a plate of shrimp and grits. One thing that I have to make sure of that raw shrimp is used for the dish because if the shrimp is already cooked, it has a tendency to get soft and mushy. Here are a couple of great, simple recipes for shrimp and grits:

Another great recipe, and also indigenous to the Georgia area, is crab. Crab legs, crab cakes, crab stew, the of this particular type of seafood is that you can do so many different things with it. And all of them taste absolutely amazing, some better than others. One of my absolute favorites would have to be crab cakes. Good enough to keep you full, but not fill you up in case you want a little more to eat. And if they are cooked just right, the flavor just sits on your tongue like a bubble, only going away once it’s ready. There’s nothing better after a hard day at the office, when you just want to relax and unwind, than getting a nice plate of crab cakes. Here’s a great Crab Cake Recipe
