Summertime on Cape Cod 2 of 2

Things You Can Do on a Budget

How can you not think about seafood when you are in Cape Cod? In fact, there are several restaurants and shacks offering you breathtaking views of the Cape with mouthwatering menus. A prime example in this regard is the Lobster Roll Cruise in Dennis. The sunset dinner cruise is just $45 a person, and the lunch cruise is $15 cheaper.

If art is your thing, head out to the Sandwich Glass Museum for a one-of-its-kind experience. The museum is filled with history (duh) and features exquisite exhibits like glassblowing demonstrations. The museum is named after the oldest town on Cape Cod, Sandwich. Stroll along the streets before or after your museum visit as well, as it will be a nice experience.

There is also a Heritage Plantation in Sandwich. This is a public garden spreading over 100 acres. You can walk along the paths, admiring the specialty gardens and water exhibits. Admission may be pricey, but it’s well worth the experience.

Theatre buffs can enjoy an evening at the Cape Playhouse in Dennis. It is the oldest professional summer theatre in the country, offering some great performances.

Love cookies? Dana’s Kitchen in Falmouth has got you covered. It is a great eatery, offering both indoor and outdoor seating, typical of food outlets in Cape Cod. While they have an extensive list of offerings, their cookies are to die for.

Finally, golfers can shoot some holes at the Cotuit Highground Country ’s par-3 golf course. While there are only nine holes, you can play unlimited rounds for $20 per day, which is a good bargain by any standard. The dress code is casual (a major relief), and you can always get a drink or ice cream at the clubhouse.
