An Exciting and Adventurous Escape
You’ll Probably Extend Your Stay!
Grand Cayman is one of the most popular tourist spots in the Caribbean, especially for Americans. For one thing, the island is easily accessible from the US by air. But more than that, Grand Cayman offers a host of activities that make visitors want to stay a bit longer.
You can take your thrill up a notch by taking a helicopter tour above the beautiful waters and observe the Cayman Trench from thousands of miles in the sky. You’ll be fascinated at how the sapphire waters turn black just a few miles offshore.
For diving enthusiasts, Cayman is the top spot in the region. Best places for diving are Eden Rock, Kittiwake, Devil’s Grotto, and Babylon. The best thing about the waters of Grand Cayman is that they are exceptionally clear with abundance of marine life. The Cayman Trench reaches a depth of more than 25000 ft., but you may not be able to dive that far down.
And if you just want to bask in the sun, you can head out to the north side of the island to a quiet beach filled with starfish. You can pick up the starfish, but be sure to keep them in the water so they don’t suffocate.
For drinking and dining, you have literally hundreds of joints on Grand Cayman. For around $90 per person, you can take a Flavour Tour of all the top restaurants complete with their wine options. Best dishes to eat are Thai fish curry and marinated lamb with rice. Dessert options are also plentiful, but you can also stop at Gelato and Co. to satisfy your sweet tooth with handcrafted Italian ice creams.
Finally, if you want to mingle with the friendly locals and buy some souvenirs, you can always visit the local food and crafts market on Camana Bay’s walking street every Wednesday from 12 pm to 7 pm.
