Most people cannot tell the difference between a Maine and a Canadian lobster, but the true lobster connoisseurs would be able to tell you just by looking at the lobster.

Let’s look at why the Maine lobster is the best there is. Maine lobsters are harvested in the cold American waters, as compared to the warm waters in which other lobsters are harvested, making them sweeter and firmer. Their meat is also whiter than warm water lobsters.

Both cold and warm water lobsters have five sets of legs, but cold water lobsters have two large claws and four small claws, which help distinguish between the two. Warm water lobsters do not have claws, but look similar to the others. Although both are lobsters, they originate from different species of crustaceans.
