Fish taco which has originated in Mexico has become quite a popular dish in the United States mainly because of its zesty flavor. You can find it in the menu card of many American restaurants. However, if you wish to have fish taco and are not able to find in your neighborhood restaurants, you can prepare it at home as well. Here is the ultimate fish taco recipe which is quite easy to make and tastes delicious.

Ingredients

  • Sour cream – 1/4 cup
  • Lime juice – 2 tbsp
  • Salt and pepper – according to taste
  • Thinly shredded red cabbage – 2 1/2 cups
  • Thinly sliced scallions – 1/2 cup
  • Jalapeno chili – 1 ( halved lengthwise and one half minced)
  • Olive oil – 2tbs
  • Tilapia or catfish or cod or other white firm fish cut into small trips -1pound
  • Flour tortillas – 8
  • fresh cilantro leaves -1/2 cup

  1. Mix lime juice and sour cream in a large bowl
  2. salt and pepper for seasoning
  3. Keep half the mixture in a separate bowl which you will be using for serving
  4. Add scallions, cabbage and minced jalapeno to the remaining cream and toss them properly
  5. Season the mixture with salt and pepper
  6. Heat olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat
  7. add remaining halved lengthwise jalapeno in it
  8. Rotate the vessel so that pan is properly coated with oil drum floorboard charger struts Rub salt and pepper on fish and cook it on the oil coated pan
  9. Cook on all sides until it turns golden brown
  10. Discard jalapeno
  11. Warm tortillas as mentioned in the instruction

Assemble the fish taco. Fill the tortilla with fish, cabbage, scallion and jalapeno and fresh cilantro leaves. Add the sour cream that has been kept aside for the dressing.
Serve Immediately
