Rest, Relax, and Recuperate
When you work hard all year long and look forward to your family vacation, perhaps over February break, relaxing is one of the key elements everyone wants. With concerns over traveling abroad these days, more and more people are looking to the Redneck Riviera to kick back and relax. Which, by the way, isn’t so redneck.
The Redneck Riviera is approximately 100 miles long extending from the Florida Panhandle through Alabama. It is widely considered one of the most laid back vacation spots in the US. T-shirts, shorts and flip flops are the dress code and with miles of sugar white sandy beaches, it is the ideal spot to curl up with a good summer book and unwind.
Where can you stay on the Redneck Riviera? It all depends on what tickles your fancy. There are five star resorts, no-tell motels, high class hotels, private condos, or inexpensive beach cottages. There is something for everyone and every budget.
What is there to do on the Redneck Riviera? Relax! But if you want to liven up your trip, you can charter a fishing boat for relatively short money, and drop your line in some of the most beautiful crystal blue waters you have ever seen. Spend the afternoon soaking up the sun, and catch a mahi mahi for dinner.
Who needs fine dining when you can have your food thrown at you? There is a great spot in Foley, Alabama called Lambert’s. (Website – –Trip Advisor) Traditional, authentic southern cooking and while you eat, the fresh hot roll cart comes through and people all over the dining room put up their hands. The lucky guy wearing oven mitts will throw the rolls out to the guests. The food is great, inexpensive with huge portions and of course, unlimited rolls.
There is plenty of places to go shopping, upscale or cheap souvenir shops. The Redneck Riviera has some of the top designer shops but is more well known for their cheap, tacky souvenirs. Ones that you know are cheesy but can’t help to buy, like the wall mounted talking fish, the bikini silhouetted 3XL t-shirt, and much more.
Many people will overspend on their vacations to places like California or Key West. Take a cheap flight down to Pensacola and rent a car to drive through the hidden gem of the Redneck Riviera where you will find trashy mixed with classy, beers and top shelf scotch, and quiet, remote beaches smattered between wildly populated sandy stretches. Find your special spot and kick back for a relaxing vacation, regardless of what y go to add ou choose to do.
