In New Orleans, barbecued shrimp is actually sauteed shrimp cooked using a variety of ingredients. Let’s take a quick look at the recipe, then let’s see where we can find this dish in the United States.
First off, you will need to prepare the following ingredients:
- 2 lbs. fresh or frozen shrimp
- 1 teaspoon of Paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 3/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon Sugar
- 5 tablespoons of butter
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 3 Scallions
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons Water
Instructions for Cooking Shrimp Barbecue
Follow these steps and make your own shrimp barbecue.
- Take a large bowl and toss in the paprika, ancho chili powder, ground cumin,
sugar and salt. Mix. - Add the shrimp unpeeled and mix evenly. Set the bowl aside for now.
- Take a 12-inch skillet and set the cooker to medium heat.
- Take 5 tablespoons of butter and heat until it is melted.
- Cook garlic for one minute on top of the butter. Do not take off heat.
- Take your large bowl and pour the contents to the butter and garlic mixture.
- Cook and stir shrimps until opaque. It should take about 3-4 minutes.
- Drop 2 tsbp. of Worcestershire sauce, squeeze lemon juice and add water.
- Keep cooking and stirring for 1-2 minutes.
- Garnish sliced scallions. Take off heat and serve.
