The Ultimate Family Destination

White Sand and Crystal Blue Water

Stretching over 5 miles in Southeastern North Carolina between Florida and New York is Wrightsville Beach.

Apart from its natural beauty, the beach offers something for everyone, whether you want to surf the waves or get some sun on the shore.

The beach is always accessible, even in winters. Spring and Fall are pleasant times to visit, especially if you are not a fan of the heat. Swimming and walking can make you hungry, so there are a variety of eateries at your disposal. Choose from spicy Mexican food to comfort menus from North Carolina.

For those traveling from out of town, Wrightsville can be accessed via plane or car. Parking is not an issue, as there are more than 40 paid parking places which can fill up quickly, especially during the busy season. The nearest airport is Wilmington (ILM), less than 8 miles away. Downtown Wilmington is a little more than 10 miles from the beach. The area is connected with highways 17, 74, 76, 117, and 421 via l-40.

The Beach has a rich and long history and has been a traveler’s destination for a century. It was known as The Banks until the 19th century when it was renamed Wrightsville Beach after the Wright group of Wilmington.

Admittance to the ocean side was once associated with a streetcar, and today a drawbridge permits local people and travelers to arrive at the island. To learn more about Wrightsville Beach and its set of experiences, come by the local museum during your getaway.

The island of Wrightsville Beach and Wilmington make a perfect
